They keep threatening to ban all smoking in public and workplaces. But they won't if my vote counts for anything! to be honest, they should leave it up to the local councils or the proprietors.

A supposed film lover creates a topic title that proclaims film is no longer being used in Ireland.

Perhaps in Ireland the word Cinema means movie theatre, but in the United States Cinema means the making of a movie, not the viewing of a movie.

So the title of this topic thread, for an American, creates disinformation. The assumption that anyone who reads the title and then will actually read the topic is a bit pompous, no?

    Alex--

Drop it. You got confused--Americans may or may not get confused. I will say "Cinema" when talking about a theater. ?You are the only one that seems to find the title confusing or misleading. Get off it and stop cluttering up the thread with you banter.

    Good Luck

Nigel, you're posts are meant to inflame, it's quite obvious.

I am strictly talking about the title of the post and how it is no different than a headline in a newspaper.

Nothing controversial, just stating an analogy.

It is however not related to the core of the discussion so drop it.
